About Impact Dental Solutions

Impact Dental Solutions is a team of professionals dedicated to assist others with the implementation of modern concepts taught in dentistry. This team is currently lead by Dr. Doug Thompson. His team is made up of hygienists, assistants, and administrative support personnel.

Most of the concepts currently taught revolve around incorporating risk assessment strategies which leads to risk reduction, or risk maintenance treatment modalities in private practice. Full implementation requires awareness, knowledge, communication, and a system to put the knowledge to work. To increase awareness Dr. Thompson has various lectures lasting from 30 minutes to 4 hours on most subjects. Some lectures could last an entire day.

One of the unique features of Dr. Thompson’s teaching is the concept of “teams training teams.” It is thought that a peer training peers enhances the effectiveness of the training. Through this concept of equality, it is thought that better relationships, high trust and increased networking will develop. Through better relationships learning is enhanced.

Because implementation of any practice protocol is a process and not an event, post course communication is essential for success. It is also critical to measure the implementation process. Good relationships enhance post course communication and good communication is essential. Impact Dental Solutions offers various post course support options to ensure implementation of the protocols taught.

Once monthly, Dr. Thompson will host one day implementation workshops for dentists and their entire teams. His main area of focus is currently personalized periodontal medicine utilizing salivary diagnostics (see course descriptions). These workshops are taught at a local facility and offices attend with their entire teams.

In addition to awareness lectures and one day workshops, Dr. Thompson also offers consultative services. He can be contracted to travel with his team or part of his team and offers onsite training. On- site training is set up case-by-case basis. If you want a personalized learning experience in your own environment contact us for details and fees.
